Now that the winter break is over Carlé's third grading period is halfway through.
Jan. 27 will be the end of the grading period and the school year will be halfway complete.
On Jan. 5, Emily Thompson had her portfolio showing and on Jan. 12 Tucker Barnett and Shannika Chandler had their portfolios shown as well. They are now all proud graduates of Carlé High School.
On Jan. 16 Carlé will be off for Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday.
Once again Carlé will take part in a cotton ball community service. The project is called “Any Positive Change” and they pack sterile cotton balls in the hope to stop the spread of blood born disease such as HIV.
The seventh period class is now mandatory for students with less that 80 percent attendance or less than four credits in a grading period. However any student who wants to boost their credits is welcome to join as well.
In addition any student who has received three tardies will also have to attend a seventh period class.
Last weekend Carlé students helped with a community service diner at the Rebekahs Lodge. It was a great opportunity to help a wonderful cause. The Carlé students and staff are very happy to help an organization like this.
The Rebekahs Lodge is a nonprofit organization that helps the community by holding fundraising dinner every other Friday. Four of Carlé students will be helping them out on a regular basis.
The Student of the Week this week was Jade Fox. Jade is a phenomenal student who takes her role as Carlé's spokesperson through these articles very seriously. The staff is very proud of her.
That is all for now, have a great week!
Jade Fox is a student at Carle Continuation High School in Lower Lake, Calif.
