There are eight weeks left in this school year and still so much to do.

We have just found out that every single one of our 45 or so graduates will get a unique graduation plaque thanks to a donation of $850 by Dr. Barry Munitz. This is the second year in a row that Dr. Munitz has shown such generosity to our school.

Dr. Munitz is the chair of the state's P-16 council as well as the president of California State University, Los Angeles. We are very grateful for his kindness and generosity.

Our in-house student design team will make up all these plaques for each individual student. In addition, Kodi Burr made a thank you plaque for Dr. Munitz with examples of last year's plaques included.

Mentioning “thanks,” we failed to thank Erika Streckfuss for filming the entire Odyssey of the Mind competitions and taking pictures of rehearsals and meetings and then ultimately putting in all the time to turn the media into a movie for all involved.

We would also like to thank Ellie Hackler for doing a wonderful job designing all of the prom tickets this year.

Congratulations to the both of you!

Spirit week is the week of April 19 and prom will follow on April 24. We will report on all of these exciting events in the next two issues of the Chronicle.

Everyone is getting in gear for graduation on June 9 as well, and we are all very proud of how hard our seniors have worked to be able to graduate this year. Although we will miss them all, it is good to see them heading off to bright futures.

Kodi Burr led yet another dinner on April 14 for the Lower Lake Community Action Group and according to students who worked the function, it went very well.

Thank you to all the students who put in hard work and thank you Kodi for being such a good leader. The workers were: Paul Silsby, Kara Boyce, Holly Brumbeck and Ellie Hackler. Thanks for all the effort.

Also on April 14, Carolynn Jarrett came to talk with students about the Children's Museum of Art and Science, and supporting the museum's events. We thank her for taking the time to come visit Carlé and talk with our students.

Kara Boyce recently designed and made thank you plaques for Bud, who built a bench and table for us out in the quad, and for Nicole Sherrill who is a substitute here at Carlé and filled in for Pat in her absence.

Our student of the week was Cierra Tripp because she has done very well on setting herself on track to graduate and maturing as a student here at Carlé. Good job, Cierra!

Finally, we would like to thank Johann Zimmerman and Adobe for donating five copies of CS4 master collection for five of our new computers in the media room. We appreciate all of the donations here at Carlé and Adobe has been especially generous with our school.

Kara is currently making thank you items for Johann and the Adobe Corp. They will say “made with love and PhotoShop by Carlé High School for Adobe.”

Andrea McMullen is a student at Carlé Continuation High School in Lower Lake.
