EUREKA – Caltrans District 1 is pleased to announce the availability of two scholarships.
The scholarships are competitive and based upon the applicant's commitment to a career in transportation, academic record, and participation in extracurricular or community-related activities.
Financial need will be a consideration but not a primary factor.
The two scholarships are the PECG Engineering and Science Scholarship and the Caltrans District 1 Scholarship.
The PECG Engineering and Science Scholarship, for $700, is made possible by contributions from Professional Engineers In California Government (PECG), the California Transportation Foundation (CTF) and donations made in memory of Dean Bottini (a long-time Caltrans employee and
advocate for education).
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Must be a high school senior or first or second-year college student from or residing in Humboldt, Del Norte, Lake or Mendocino County.
Must plan to pursue a degree in science or engineering.
Must plan to pursue a career in transportation.
Must provide an official transcript to verify grade point average (GPA).
Must provide a description of participation in extra-curricular and/or community-related activities.
Letters of recommendation will be considered.
The Caltrans District 1 Scholarship, for $450, is made possible by contributions made in memory of Dean Bottini (a longtime Caltrans employee and advocate for education) and from the California
Transportation Foundation (CTF).
