LUCERNE, Calif. – The monthly meeting of Lucerne Friends of Locally Owned Water (Lucerne FLOW) will take place on Saturday, Nov. 20.
The meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center, 10th and Country Club.
FLOW's meetings are held every third Saturday of the month.
Breakfast is available and will begin at 8 a.m.
The public is welcome.

The programs are administered by Catholic Charities Lake County Programs, and are part of the federal government stimulus bills to help people who live in Lake County and pay rent.
The programs can assist qualified residents who are experiencing hardship due to the current economy and/or a sudden loss of income.
The meeting will help explain who is most likely to qualify and how the application process works.
The programs can help people who are in jeopardy of losing their current rental housing; need money to catch up on late rent payments; are at risk of homelessness or who are homeless and need help to re-establish housing; need help in paying past due utility bills.
Mortgage assistance of any kind is not covered.
To qualify, residents must meet federal income guidelines, as well as requirements such as documentation of payments to landlords or utilities companies, and proof of legal residency.
All information and documentation is verified during the review process.
The programs are funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009/ Homeless Prevention and Rapid-Re-housing Program, and the Federal Emergency Shelter Grant for Lake County is funded by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), via the California Department of Housing & Community Development.

The landfill will reopen on Saturday, Nov. 27, and the Public Services office will reopen on Monday, Nov. 29.
Normal operating hours at the landfill are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
The Public Services office is normally open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

KELSEYVILLE, Calif – The ninth annual Saw Shop Bistro benefit dinner and auction for Habitat for Humanity Lake County, held on the evening of Nov. 9, was a magnificent success, according to organizers.
The event raised more than $9,000 for the organization.
The attendees were treated to a multi-course dinner.
“We are thankful to Saw Shop Bistro owner Marie Beery and her staff for producing this event; they enthusiastically donated their time in support of Habitat for Humanity,” said Executive Director Richard Birk.
Major contributors this year were the Saw Shop Bistro, PG&E, Foods Etc., Westamerica Bank, Sutter Lake Hospital, Mendo-Lake Credit Union, Moore Family Winery and the Bank of the West.
