LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport Enhanced Education Foundation (LEEF) will host its 14th annual Big Band Dance and Auction on Saturday, March 19.
The event will take place at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 401 Martin St., Lakeport.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Join the group for an evening of dinner, music, dancing, and exciting silent and live auctions.
The event will feature the Clear Lake High School Jazz Band led by Director Jenni Ingram, and will continue with wonderful food, auctions and the music of Kay Irvine and her talented group of musicians.
LEEF uses all proceeds of the annual dance and auction to benefit music, science and computer programs, along with many other educational programs and campus improvements needed in the Lakeport Unified School District.
Tickets are $30 per person. Tables seating 10 are $500.
Tickets can be purchased at Linda's Hallmark in the Willow Tree Plaza on 11th Street in Lakeport or the Terrace Middle School office.

LUCERNE, Calif. – The Lucerne Friends of Locally Owned Water (Lucerne FLOW) will host its monthly meeting on Saturday, March 19.
The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Kapitan's Kafe, located at 6150 E Highway 20 in Lucerne.
Pre-gathering starts at 11 a.m. The public is welcome.

UPPER LAKE, Calif. – The Tallman Hotel will host a winemaker dinner on Thursday, March 17.
The four-course meal on St. Patrick's Day will begin at 6:30 p.m.
It will feature wines and grass-fed lamb from Shannon Ridge Vineyards, owned by Clay and Margarita Shannon.
Chic Le Chef Julie Hoskins' menu will include lamb meatballs and grilled shrimp with lemon and thyme paired with the 2009 Sauvignon Blanc from the Ranch Collection; a salad of roasted beets, walnuts, goat cheese and golden balsamic vinaigrette paired with the Ranch Collection's 2009 Chardonnay; a main course of Shannon Ridge lamb osso bucco with barley risotto, paired with the Ranch Collection's 2009 Petite Sirah; and a dessert of pear tart with lemon ice cream and vanilla bean caramel sauce, paired with the 2009 Single Vineyard Riesling.
Tickets for the dinner cost $65 plus tax.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The local PEACE tolerance group is starting fundraising efforts to benefit those in Japan and Hawaii impacted by last week's earthquake and tsunami.
The group wants to raise at least $5,000 to send to each area, according to local PEACE President Joanna McKinley
Those who wish to donate can go to www.peacetolerance.webs.com or send money to the group in care of McKinley at P.O. Box 1865, Clearlake CA 95422.
In the subject line of a check or donation please state where you want the money to go, Japan or Hawaii.
McKinley said she will send money via a bulk check on a weekly basis.
