The draft report, entitled “Conservation Strategy for Restoration of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Ecological Management Zone and the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valley Regions,” will be available for public review and comment from July 22 until Aug. 22.
The document identifies biologically promising ecosystem restoration opportunities in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Ecological Management Zone and the Sacramento Valley and San Joaquin Valley regions, and it provides the rationale for restoration actions specific to each of these regions.
It provides the conceptual framework and process that will guide the refinement, evaluation, prioritization, implementation, monitoring and review of Ecosystem Restoration Program (ERP) actions. ERP performance measures can be found in Appendix D.
The draft report is available on the DFG Web site at www.dfg.ca.gov/erp/reports_docs.asp.

Lee often phoned in to Herb Gura’s “Law Show” and other shows on KPFZ to express his unique perspective on the state of Lake County and the world.
This Saturday, July 23, at 5 p.m. on KPFZ 88.1 FM, Gura will dedicate “The Law Show” to Lee. Clips of some of Lee’s calls to KPFZ will be aired.
Programmer Steve Elias also will be in the studio and listeners are invited to phone in and reminisce about Lee and his special contribution to the Lake County community.

LAKE COUNTY
Highway 20
– Bridge deck repairs at the Middle Creek Bridge and the Clover Creek Bridge will continue. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Wahlund Construction of Eureka.
– Metal be a.m. guardrail repair at various locations from Long Valley Road to 1.7 mile west of Gavel Plant Road will continue. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekdays. In two-lane sections, one-way traffic control will be in effect and motorists should anticipate five-minute delays. In four-lane sections, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel and motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns. Contractor – Stewart Dirt and Aggregate of Fairfield.

Highway 29
– PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs near Wardlaw Street beginning Wednesday, July 27. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
– Paving from 0.7 mile south of Clayton Creek Road to the junction of Routes 29/53 will continue. Nighttime work hours are 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Granite Construction of Ukiah.
– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from 0.3 mile north of Diener Drive to 0.1 mile north of the junction of Routes 29/281 beginning Monday, July 25. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
– Fence repair at various locations from Bottle Rock Road to Thomas Drive will begin Monday, July 25. Nighttime work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays. Contractor – V A P Construction Inc. of La Miranda.

Highway 175
– Metal beam guardrail repair from 0.9 to 2.3 miles east of the Mendocino/Lake County line will continue. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays. Contractor – Stewart Dirt and Aggregate of Fairfield.

Highway 1

– Installation of a roundabout at Simpson Lane will continue. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekdays. A shoulder closure will be in effect. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns. Contractor – Fedco Construction Inc., of Santa Rosa.
– Storm damage repairs near Blue Slide Gulch will begin Monday, July 25. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Robert J Frank Construction of Redding.
– Storm damage repairs near the Union Landing Viaduct will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays. Contractor – Valentine Corp. of San Rafael.
– Bridge painting on the South Fork Eel River Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays. Contractor – NY Blastco of Gardenia.
Highway 20

– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from the Commisky Station Viaduct to the junction of Routes 101/175 beginning Monday, July 25. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays. In two-lane sections, one-way traffic control will be in effect and motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. In four-lane sections, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel and motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

– A pavement repair project from the Robinson Creek Bridge to Uva Drive will continue. Work hours are 4 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel. Highway 222
– Replacement of the Russian River Bridge will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Highway 253
