MIDDLETOWN – The South Lake County Fire Sirens are hosting a grand reopening of the House of Bargains located next to the Middletown Fire Station on Highway 175.
A huge rummage and bake sale will take place on Saturday, May 1, and Sunday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
They have lots of new, clean and in-working-order merchandise for sale. All departments are reorganized for ease in shopping.
The Fire Sirens are a volunteer organization and proceeds go toward emergency equipment for the South Lake County Fire Protection District.
Their goal is to have four weekend sales during the year and be open for business every Wednesday, beginning in May, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Club Vice President Carol Olsen and volunteering firemen have done a great job getting the building ready.
Come and see all we’ve done to improve the House of Bargains, find some treasures and enjoy some yummy food items while you shop.
Mark your calendars for May 1 and 2. See you there.

KELSEYVILLE – Kelseyville Presbyterian Church will host a fiesta dinner on Saturday, May 1.
The dinner will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church, located at 5340 Third St.
Get an early start on Cinco de Mayo and enjoy a dinner of homemade enchiladas, tacos and more for just $10 per person for adults and $5 for kids under 10.
Take out dinners are available by calling 707-279-1104.
Proceeds go to Kelseyville Presbyterian Church' Community Outreach.

NORTH COAST – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around Lake County during the coming week.
Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.
LAKE COUNTY
Highway 20
– PG&E of Eureka has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for tree trimming from Le Trianon Resort to the North Fork Cache Creek Bridge. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
– AT&T of Ukiah has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility repairs between Spring Street and Manzanita Road. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.
– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from Country Club Drive to Lakeview Drive beginning Monday, April 12. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from Abbot Mine Road to the Colusa/Lake County line through Friday, April 9. Work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
Highway 29
– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from the Saint Helena Creek Bridge to 0.8 mile north of Spruce Grove Road. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
Highway 175
– PG&E of Eureka has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for tree trimming from Mathews Road to Snead Drive. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
MENDOCINO COUNTY
Highway 1
– A culvert replacement project from Haven Neck Drive to Navarro Ridge Road will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays. Contractor – Kapel Construction of Willow Creek.
– Construction of a retaining wall about three miles north of Elk will continue. Intermittent one-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays. Contractor – Granite Construction of Ukiah.
– PG&E of Eureka has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for tree trimming from Airport Road to the Hardy Creek Bridge beginning Monday, April 12. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
Highway 20
– Construction of a retaining wall 0.4 mile east of Three Chop Road will continue. Intermittent one-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays. Contractor – Granite Construction of Ukiah.
Highway 101
– AT&T of Fort Bragg has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for an aerial crossing between Forestry Entrance Road and Walker Road on Sunday, April 11. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Intermittent full road closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
Highway 128
– PG&E of Eureka has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for an aerial crossing between Haehl Street and Hutsell Road on Monday, April 12. Work hours are 9 a.m. to noon. Intermittent full road closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
Highway 162
– PG&E of Eureka has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for tree trimming from 5.0 miles north of Sand Bank Creek to Short Creek Road beginning Monday, April 12. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
Highway 222
– Replacement of the Russian River Bridge will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays. Contractor – CC Myers of Rancho Cordova.

MIDDLETOWN – This Saturday, Middletown Sober Grad is hosting its annual rummage sale, an event so big that they needed a warehouse to put it on.
The one-day-only sale will be held, rain or shine, on Saturday, April 10, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The venue is Vintage Court Storage, 18155 Vintage Court off of Highway 29 in Middletown.
The business has donated the use of a warehouse for the sale.
Middletown Sober Grad raises funds to have safe and alcohol-free events for teens at graduation.
