CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Jack was born in 1918 to Zack and Alexandria Salonisen and passed on Monday, July 10, 2017, in Clearlake. He was at home with us and we held him close until the end.
LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Philip Matthew Moyer, 71, passed peacefully on the morning of July 10.
Philip graduated from Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, Calif., and fell in love with Sharon Green. The two married and were blessed with two children, Erik and Shannon.
In the early 1970s, they moved to Novato, Calif., where he briefly attended Marin Community College and started working for American Asbestos Co. Within a few years, Philip became executive/owner of American Asbestos Co. and ran this company successfully for over 20 years.
In the early 1990s, he started another successful company, American Packing and Rubber, and worked there until his death.
Philip met his second wife, Marilyn Green, in Kelseyville, Calif. The two married and moved to Petaluma, Calif., where they lived for several years. In 2009, they relocated to Kelseyville, Calif, where he spent his final years.
He really enjoyed the beauty and quiet surroundings of Lake County, as well boating, fishing, going to casinos, attending sporting events, traveling and living life on his own terms.
Philip is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley H. Moyer and Dorothy M. Moyer. He is survived by his sister, Susan Moyer; first wife, Sharon Stender; second wife, Marilyn Moyer; his two children, Erik (Rhea) Moyer of West Sacramento and Shannon DeLeon Lopez of Mill Valley; and grandson, Matthew Moyer.
Funeral service will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary on Monday, July 17, at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Kelseyville Cemetery.
