LAKEPORT, Calif. — Edward George Fayle was born in Bakersfield, California, on Aug. 8, 1935, to Leonard Ray Fayle and Anna Louise (Trapnell) Fayle of Delano, California.
Ed died in his long-term home city of Lakeport, on Aug. 14, 2022.
In 1942, the family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where his father’s family had been early members of the communities of Las Vegas, Jean and Goodsprings, Nevada.
Ed attended John S. Park Grade School and Las Vegas High School, participating in many activities, including band, varsity football and the National Honor Society.
He became the Class of 1954’s Salutatorian and attended Stanford University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering in 1958.
After working at North American Aviation in Southern California, he returned for a graduate degree to the University of California, Oakland, and received his professional engineering degree in 1962 to 63.
He relocated to Las Vegas and then to Phoenix, Arizona, where he worked designing systems in the heating and cooling industry.
In 1985, Ed moved to Lake County in Northern California and enjoyed the pastoral environment and friendly community for the remainder of his life.
He is survived by his sister, Jane Fayle Norgren of Milford, Connecticut; his nephews, Erik Ray Norgren of Stamford, Connecticut, Nils Edward Norgren (Kim) of Norfolk, Massachusetts; and niece, Anna Louise Norgren Mahon (Sean) of Orange, Connecticut; in addition to his grand nephews and nieces.
He was a proud uncle and brother-in-law to the late Philip Norgren, Jane's husband, who was also an engineer.
A graveside memorial service will be held in the late fall in Goodsprings, Nevada.
