Jesse Russell Petray
Nov. 6, 1995 - March 22, 2021

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – A bright light was taken from this world far too soon.

Jesse spent his life enjoying every day of it. Despite a long battle with epilepsy, he always had a sunny and carefree disposition. He was not one to let life or his illness get him down.

Jesse was fiercely loyal to those he loved and will be missed dearly.

Jesse was greeted at Heaven's gate by his mother, Elaine Werre, and his best friend and beloved dog, Joey.

Jesse leaves behind many loved ones, including his father R. "Butch" Petray, four brothers and one sister.

A celebration of life will be held for Jesse and his mother Elaine on April 2 at 2 p.m. at Highland Springs Recreation Area, Lakeport.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Born in 1955 on Christmas day, he was a true Christmas miracle.

Sadly, Steve passed March 2, 2021, in Lakeport.

Steve grew up in the Bay Area but spent most of his adult life in Lake County, California.

He was married twice and had one son who passed at birth, Andrew.

He was a professional painter by trade. After the painting business, Steve went on to do other jobs including one he was particularly proud of at the San Francisco Zoo where he worked for five years. He also worked for several hotels where he was honored as employee of the month.

Steve met his long-term life partner Kate Salgado 24 years ago. After living together for 10 years in Daly City, California, they bought and made their home in Lucerne, California, to spend their golden years together. Finding love later in life was a wonderful thing for Steve and Kate.

Steve’s life stories will surely carry on through his devoted partner Kate, brother John, nephews Christopher and John Jr. along with his extended family and many friends.

Steve will be loved forever.

RIP Steve.

Steve’s graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, 1370 El Camino Real, Colma, California.

Arrangements and care entrusted to Jones Mortuary FD311, www.jonesmortuarylakeport.com, 707-263-5389.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Carl Henry Haack passed away on Feb. 24, 2021, at the age of 94.

He lived a full and productive life.

He served as a combat engineer in World War II, a race car mechanic and an auto industry executive.

His work ethic was incomparable. His craftsmanship was unsurpassed. His laughter was contagious.

He loved gardening, music, cars, racing and, above all, family.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and role model to all who knew him.

Carl will be greatly missed, but always remembered by those who were blessed to have shared time with him. Toodle-loo.
