LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Othon Benitez.

Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He spoke fluent sarcasm, quick with puns, he was one of a kind! Many beautiful memories he left behind.

Joe was born Nov. 20, 1946, to Mary (Pina) and Gonzalo (Juarez) Burlanga-Benitez in Alameda, California, the youngest of seven.

He entered into rest on Oct. 21, 2023, leaving behind his wife of 44 years, Mary; kids, Coy, Lisa, Rose, Jesse and Michael (Cassandra); and seven grandchildren, Talyn, Maveric, Shalya, Zethan, Damian, Violet and Jeremy.

A celebration of life will be held in the near future.

Arrangements by Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 707-263-0357 or 707-994-5611, or visit www.chapelofthelakes.com.
