Betty Jeane Taylor Frost, age 84, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009, in Flagstaff, Ariz. She was born July 9, 1925 in Caldwell, Idaho, to Charles Everett and Leona Berniece Matson Taylor. She married Jimmie Woodhull Frost on Jan. 27, 1945, in Norman, Okla., and was later sealed to him on Sept. 4, 1950, in the St. George Temple.

Jeane was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She shared her considerable talents, especially music, supporting and uplifting those around her. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother

Jeane worked for many years as executive secretary to the Planning and Zoning Department of Page, Ariz.

Survivors include her children, Kandice Sue Fallis of Austin, Texas, Jimmie Taylor (Nancy) Frost of Kelseyville, California, and Elizabeth Ann Harris of Flagstaff, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Everett Lafe Taylor, husband Jimmie Frost, son Robert Taylor Frost, daughter Jeane Marthlene Frost, and two great-granddaughters.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the Page Arizona LDS Stake Center at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Page Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary of Kanab, UT.

Soper-Reese hosts Holman memorial Sunday

LAKEPORT – A memorial service for the late Joan Holman, a pillar in the local arts community, will take place this Sunday, July 12.

The service will begin at 2 p.m. at the Soper-Reese Community Theatre in Lakeport.

Holman, a native of England, came to the United States after World War II.

She died June 5 at age 93.

In addition to her work as a journalist, she also was an artist, photographer and actress, and was seen often on local stage in theater productions.

The Soper-Reese Community Theatre is located at 275 S. Main St., Lakeport.

Leona Schneider

Leona Schneider passed away June 22, 2009.


A longtime resident of Lake County, she moved to Auburn in 1999 to be with her son.


Survivors include children, Lynn, Paul and Stormy, and granddaughters, April and Terra.


Services for Leona will be at Jones and Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel on Main Street in Lower Lake on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at 11 a.m.
