Freeda Maye Gorbet Duncan Krukoff ‘Nannie’

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Freeda was born Aug. 24, 1927, and crossed over to the spirit world April 15, 2022, peacefully at her residence with her loved ones surrounding her.

Freeda is survived by her daughter, Colleen Pete and son-in-law, Gary Pete (Round Valley); daughter-in-law, Darlene Robidoux (Yurok); son, Douglas Duncan and daughter-in-law, Susan Duncan; and son, Kyle Crandell and daughter-in-law Jackie Crandell.

Freeda is predeceased by her husband, Henry Krukoff (Aleut Corporation); mother, Hazel Gorbet (Robinson Rancheria) and father, George Gorbet (Greenville Rancheria); three sisters, Colleen Poe, Mildred Duncan and Evelyn Peake; and two sons, Dwayne Duncan and LaVerne Duncan.

Freeda entered this world under a walnut tree at Old Robinson on Mockingbird Lane. She was proud to be a member of Robinson Rancheria and to work at her tribal casino (22 years) and she loved playing bingo and the slot machines.

She was an avid news follower for local and political news. She enjoyed being informed before going to the ballot box.

Freeda was blessed and loved 20 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great-grandchildren and all of her nieces and nephews. She will be missed by so many she touched, loved, cared for and befriended.

Funeral service was held at Robinson Rancheria Gymnasium on Saturday, April 23. She was laid to rest at Robinson Rancheria Cemetery.
