Lilias Janik

NICE, Calif. – The Lord has come and taken Lilias Home Monday night at her home in Nice.

She slipped into eternity surrounded by her children. Alzheimer's had taken its toll at 92 years old.

She was born in the family farmhouse in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.

On Feb. 2, 1947, she married Mitchell Janik. In 1954 they moved their family to California. Her home was a place where all were welcomed and loved, offered grace and kindness.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Mitchell Yanik.

She is survived by her four children, Peter Janik (Jo) of Kelseyville, California, Eugene Janik (Toni) of Hayward, Wayne Janik of Fremont and Susan Dillon (John) of Nice; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary on Thursday, Dec. 20, from 11:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m.
