KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – “Wink” Winckler, 72, of Kelseyville, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 18, 2018.

Strokes had left him bedridden for the last three and a half years.

He was born on Aug. 4, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois to two wonderful parents, Don and Alice Winckler, also from Chicago.

He lived in various places in Illinois, Tennessee, and even Rio de Janeiro before he went into the Air Force.

After that, he stayed in California becoming an ace motorcycle mechanic and racer, an entrepreneur for “Wink’s Tuning” in Sonoma County, a store manager for 2 Tandy Corp./Radio Shack stores, a mechanic for “Hillside Honda” and finally a courier for Kelseyville School District.

Besides his enjoyment of motorcycles, he absolutely loved little theater. He wore many hats for the Lakeport Players and Lake County Theater Co. He worked with many wonderful people through Clear Lake High School theater. At times, he was much bigger than life!

He is survived by his wife, Stella Winckler; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Rose, Barbara, Richard, and Steve Sowash and Theresa Hart; and many other friends and in-laws. He is sorely missed.

Memorial service will be held at the little theater at the Lake County Fairgrounds on Martin Street, Lakeport, on Nov. 17 at 1 p.m.

Donations could be made in his honor to the Lake County Theater Co.

Arrangements by Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 707-263-0357 or 707-994-5611, or visit www.chapelofthelakes.com.
