Jerome (J.P.) Sutton
LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Jerome (J.P.) Sutton died peacefully on Sept. 6, 2018.
He was born on Nov. 23, 1929 in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of six children born to Hardy and Ellen Sutton.
He was a veteran who served in the Air Force. He married Hazel and they had four children.
He worked in the logging industry for many years and eventually ended up working for the County of Lake road crew in Upper Lake.
He was an avid golfer, a retired pilot and ran a small engine repair service until his blindness. He had many hobbies which included motorcycles, fishing and gold panning.
Jerome is preceded in death by his wife of 50-plus years, Hazel; his son, Jeffrey Sutton; and granddaughter, Nicole Sleeper.
He leaves his three remaining children, daughters, Pam (Ken) Sleeper and Cynthia Clark, and son, Wayne Sutton. He also leaves nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
A potluck celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Bachelor Valley Grange Hall in Upper Lake.
