NORTHERN CALIFORNIA – Joaquin Robert Medrano lost his seven-year battle with thyroid cancer on Aug. 30, 2018, at St. Helena Hospital.
He was extremely courageous and brave.
He was born Nov. 19, 1963, in San Francisco to Meriel and Jack Medrano.
Joaquin’s father passed away in l971 and the family moved to Anderson Springs where they had a summer home.
He graduated from Middletown High School in 1982. He worked many years as a
physical therapy aid and then went into hotel management. In later years he managed the maintenance at the Middletown Cemetery District.
He was an avid bocce ball player. He loved cars and motorcycles and was always willing to help a friend. He had 17 nicknames and according to him “he had a pretty good run.”
He leaves behind his mother, Meriel Medrano; half-sisters, Kari Donley, Victoria Ozolins, Terri Rogers, Linda Medrano and Lisa Kilby; and many nephews and nieces.
Joaquin will always be in our hearts and we will treasure our memories of him.
His father, Jack, and brother, Michael Medrano, preceded him in death.
He will truly be missed by many family and friends.
