Emily Elizabeth Hebert
Jan. 6, 1996 - Feb. 13, 2018

It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Emily Elizabeth Hebert, beloved daughter of Stephen and Linda Hebert and sister of Josh Hebert.

On the evening of Feb. 13, 2018, Emily passed away unexpectedly in her sleep in Sacramento.

Born in Santa Rosa, Calif., she grew up in Hidden Valley Lake and was a 2014 graduate of Middletown High School.

At the time of her passing, she was a student at Sierra College and was pursuing her dream of becoming a dental hygienist.

Emily is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Howard and Betty Pink of Hidden Valley Lake. She is survived by her paternal grandparents, Albert and MaryEllen Hebert of Cape Cod, Mass., and her half-sister Stephenie LaRoque Codding of Nevada City, Ca. Emily was blessed with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins on both coasts.

Emily will be forever remembered for her joyful spirit, kindness, optimism, love of nature, boundless curiosity, empathy, creativity and quirky sense of humor. She cared deeply for animals, adopting two cats, one of whom is blind.

She treasured her many friends and brightened every life she touched. She was an independent, mature, hard working young woman who was actively working to build the life she wanted.

Some may remember her from the Big Chill Frozen Yogurt Shop, opened by her parents in Hidden Valley Lake.

At the age of 18, Emily moved to Sacramento, excited to start her new life. She went on to work at David’s Bridal, Solar City and at the time of her passing was employed as a bookkeeper at Safeway in Fair Oaks.

All who knew her are invited to join her family in a celebration of her life on Sunday, May 20, beginning at noon, at the park in front of the new library and senior center on
Calistoga Street/Highway 29 in Middletown. Seating is limited, so you are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets for the lawn.

This is an alcohol-free gathering. It will be a potluck barbecue. Meat will be provided, but please bring a dish to share. Most of all, bring your memories.

Emily’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from so many friends during this difficult time.

For anyone who wishes to honor Emily’s memory by way of a donation, please consider donating to any ASPCA or other animal welfare organization of your choice.
