Eugene Kininnook grew up in Mill Valley, Calif., with his brothers, Hal and Arnold. They loved hanging out at Mt Tamalpais State Park.

After graduating from Mt Tamalpais High School, he joined the US Marines in 1946 and is a veteran of World War II.

In 1958 he went to work for NASA at the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, Calif. He worked there for 35 years.

Eugene retired and moved to Clearlake, Calif., where he met his beloved wife, Betty, who passed away in 2005.

They loved to travel, and bowl together. He also loved to go fishing with his brother Hal.

He was a very loving, caring, kind and generous man, who donated to many charities.

Eugene was very passionate about his family. He had five children; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; a beloved sister-in-law, Betty Ellis; and many nieces and nephews.

He now rejoins his beloved wife and son, Eugene (Geno) Smith, who passed in 2009, and his brothers, Hal and Arnold Ellis.

Left to carry on his memory is son, Jesse Page; and daughters, Lamonda Jennings, Sherry Duque and Melissa Smith.

Eugene’s memorial services will be held at Lower Lake Cemetery on April 11 at 2 p.m. with Lake County’s Military Honor Guard conducting the service honors.

Arrangements entrusted to Jones and Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel FD800.
