LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Mary A. Schoux, 84, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 11, 2018, after a long illness.

She leaves behind her husband of 56 years, Gilbert (Gil) D. Schoux, who lovingly cared for her during her illness.

She also leaves behind three wonderful children, Mary Suzanne Gogna (Richard) of San Rafael, Gilbert H. Schoux (Ursula) of Kelseyville and Jeffrey L. Schoux (Nicole) of San Jose, and seven grandchildren, Jessica Schoux, Taylor Schoux, Kendall Schoux, Colton Schoux, Zachary Gogna, Lauren Gogna and Tyler Gogna.

Mary was a Lake County resident for 38 years. After moving from Cupertino to Kelseyville in 1980, she and Gil opened Gil-Mar Wholesale Plumbing Supply in Lower Lake. She ran the showroom helping customers with their bathroom and kitchen remodel choices, while Gil helped plumbers in the warehouse.

She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, along with many of her good friends. But her proudest achievements were being a wife, mother and grandmother.

We are incredibly blessed to have had such a loving, supportive, giving, positive mother. Not a day went by where she wasn’t happy. Her home was her sanctuary. Always warm and inviting and friends were welcome anytime. Her children and grandchildren brought her incredible joy.

We will honor our mother by emulating her amazing qualities in our own lives, and with our own children, so her spirit will live on with us into eternity. We love and miss you Mom!

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you give generously to Hospice. We are deeply indebted to this wonderful organization and their nurses, assistants and staff for taking care of our mom and supporting us during her illness. We simply could not have done it without them.

Arrangements by Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 707-263-0357 or 707-994-5611, or visit www.chapelofthelakes.com.
