LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Michael Paul Smith (Mike) was born on Dec. 31, 1965, and passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, surrounded by loved ones.
He was a California native, born in the Bay Area and grew up in Sonoma County. He was a graduate of Rohnert Park High School.
It was said Mike never met a stranger, making friends wherever he went. You could always find him with a smile on his face.
Mike enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his wife of 28 years. He was a local cook for over 20 years at the Marina Grill in Nice, Calif.
He is survived by his mother, Marian Arlene Downard; his wife, Anita Smith; his son, Joseph Smith; seven more children; two sisters; one brother; and 14 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Patrick Smith.
He leaves behind many more family and friends.
He was a loving husband, father and friend.
There will be no public services. The family will hold a small private gathering in his honor.
He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
