Frank Dimauro

Oct. 26, 1928 – Oct. 24, 2017

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Frank was born to Joe and Lily Dimauro in Lakeport, Calif.

He attended Lakeport schools and graduated from Clear Lake High School, where he met and then married his wife Bonnie.

Together they raised three children, Margaret Kramp (Karl), Barbara Bridges (Bob) and Jim Dimauro (Sharon).

He was blessed with six grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Pickle, Aaron (Sharone) Pickle, Brad (Ashley) Bridges, Bethany (Kevin) O’Brien, Amy Dimauro and Brian (Liz) Dimauro; and six great-grandchildren, Alex and Ashley Pickle, Emily and Madison Pickle, Jamie Dimauro and Benjamin Bridges.

Frank spent his life working in Lake County covering numerous endeavors. He managed a pear ranch, worked as a ranch hand for several ranches, owned and raised walnuts, ran a walnut shaker for many years, baled hay in most of the county, was an agricultural inspector for the county of Lake, worked for Lange Brothers Construction and finally got his dream job driving a truck for Parnum Paving.

Frank was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was a lifetime member of the Konocti Rod & Gun Club. He was very proud of all the years he spent helping to teach the Hunter’s Safety Program with the Department of Fish and Game, helping hundreds of kids and adults learn to use guns safely. He took gun safety very seriously, making sure those heading into the woods were well-versed in all aspects of safety and hunter ethics.

Frank was an avid baseball fan and a lifelong supporter of the Giants. He coached Little League and Senior League baseball in Lake County for many years.

He loved his summer and fall trips to Hat Creek where he fished for trout and hunted for the elusive buck. He always looked forward to hosting our family reunions at the Hat Creek Resort.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; brother, Joe Dimauro; and sister, Mary Renfro.

A memorial service will be held in his honor at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 High St. in Lakeport, on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 10 a.m.

There will be a luncheon at the United Christian Parish following the service, 745 N. Brush St. Lakeport.
