CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Harry M. Graves, age 90, entered into rest at his home in Clearlake with his loving family by his side.
A native of Englewood, Kansas, Harry lived in Lake County for 45 years.
He loyally served his country in the US Navy, attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer, as a Data Systems Technician, serving during WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
He was a Life Member of American Legion Post 437, Life Member of VFW Post 2337, Pearl Harbor Survivors, DAV, and a very active and long-time member of the Lake County Funeral Honors Team, amongst a few.
After his military service, Harry joined NASA in Texas as a computer technician, working on Apollo XVI and the last Gemini flight to the moon.
Harry is survived by his children, Cedric Graves, Kevin Graves and Noah Graves; stepchildren, Lloyd (Diane) Muchmore, Linda (late Jerry) Conatser and Debra (Robert) Hawkins; and sisters, June Whisenhunt, and Isola Roberts. Harry also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 32 years, Ruth D. Graves; stepdaughter, Lorraine McElroy; and parents, James and Eda Graves.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Jones & Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel in Lower Lake.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, beginning at 10 a.m. at Jones & Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel thence to Lower Lake Cemetery where military honors will be rendered by the US Navy under the auspices of Lake County Funeral Honors Team.
