LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Forrest Arthur Borghesani, 83, passed away peacefully on Feb. 16, 2016, after a long illness.
Forrest was born in Lafayette, Calif., to parents Lou and Babe Borghesani. He attended Acalanes High School and then college at U.C. Berkeley.
In 1956 he moved to Kelseyville to help his father Lou and brother, Bob, open the Kelseyville Lumber Yard. After several years he left the family business to become a Realtor. He sold many homes in Lake County, and also worked on large land projects in both California and Texas.
He married his wife Beverly in 1958. They were married for almost 40 years until her death in 1996. Forrest was never happier than when he was behind the wheel, traveling new roads and new country. He and Bev had many great adventures throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
After Beverly’s death, Forrest’s life was forever changed. He found comfort in his friends and family, as well as his constant canine companion, Smokey.
Forrest leaves behind daughter, Cindy Bain; son-in-law, Bill Bain; beloved granddaughters, Megan and Katie McDonald; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Grave side services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Kelseyville Cemetery.
