Moulton: Another fabulous Middletown Crab Feed

The Rotary Club of Middletown wishes to thank everyone who attended our 18th Annual Crab Feast & Auctions on Jan. 30. It was, once again, a great, sold-out, successful event. Everyone had fun, ate lots of great food and did good for the community.

A big thanks to the fabulous Interact Club members of Middletown High School: they earned their community hours by working throughout the day with intelligence and poise – they are a real asset to Middletown. Plus, they voted to give their tips to a vocational school in Mexico for equipment.

Karen Jones’ floral design class at the high school beautified our tables with fresh floral arrangements, which were quickly sold at the end of the evening. Proceeds from the sale and from sponsorships are split between the club and our local FFA chapter.

Thanks and appreciation goes to all the businesses and individuals who contributed to the silent and live auctions, about 200 items this year. And thanks to the generous bidders.

A “king crab” thank you to Calpine for their generous sponsorship this year. Other sponsors include Catholic Charities, Rich Thomas, EcoArts of Lake County, Fox Marble & Granite, Langtry Estate & Vineyards, Jon “The Tax Man” Meyer, Happy Smiles Dental Practice, Clover Dairy, Middletown Animal Hospital, St. Helena Hospital-Clearlake, Tri-Counties Bank, H. Karabel and T. Hoberg, Westamerica Bank, Lia Rusth, and Helen and Shaw Whitney.

The auction books were printed by Perfect Printers in Clearlake, and our sponsor banner was donated by Rick Hamilton’s RAH Signs.

Thank you one and all for your generosity. All proceeds from this event go to local and international humanitarian projects.

Bea Moulton is president of the Rotary Club of Middletown.
