Contrary to previous reporting in this news service, the responsible federal agencies are not preparing an environmental impact study (EIS) for public information and public comment regarding the controversial AltaRock engineered geothermal system south of Anderson Springs.

The Anderson Springs Community Alliance and Friends of Cobb Mountain have now requested that such a report be prepared before the planned deep rock fracturing takes place.

The question at issue is the possible increase in local earthquakes and their magnitudes.
