KELSEYVILLE – A bridge failure has closed a portion of Merritt Road, according to the Lake County Department of Public Works.

Effective immediately and until further notice, Merritt Road at Hill Creek – approximately 1,500 feet west of Renfro Drive – will be closed to all traffic, the department reported.

Access to Merritt Road west of the closure will be via Highland Springs Road.

Signs and barricades are in place to alert the traveling public and emergency services of the need to use alternate routes.
