KPFZ plans weeklong pledge drive

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Local Community Radio, KPFZ 88.1 FM, is having a one-week fundraiser to help keep the station on the air.


The fundraiser starts at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, and will run through Friday, April 22, at 12 a..


If you are not a member consider joining at their various rates. If you are a member consider renewing your membership for another year.


There will be premiums offered for additional amounts. For example one of the programmers is offering kayak trips for a $100 donation each.


There will be plenty of CDs to encourage donations as well as books and personal services.


Start calling early Saturday and pledge your donation or join at one of their membership levels.


KPFZ is a member supported radio station, not commercial radio and not public radio. It relies on the support of local residents and local businesses to keep on the air.


KPFZ broadcasts live talk shows on a variety of topics and a wide range of music shows. National downloaded shows such as “Democracy Now,” “Folk Scenes” and “New Dimensions” also are available.


Take a listen, if you haven't lately, you will be impressed enough to go to the phone and dial 707-263- 3640.


If the line is busy call again as a big response is expected for this fundraiser. Call early to get the best premiums as they go fast.


You also can visit the studio at 149 N. Main (upstairs) next to Main Street Pizza in Lakeport and make your donation in person.


Credit cards, cash and checks are welcome and a monthly payment plan can be set up for your convenience.
