LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Sanhedrin Chapter of the California Native Plant Society will present a talk on Saturday, March 26, on habitat gardening for wildlife with California native plants.
The meeting will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at Rancho De La Fuente, 2290 Soda Bay Road, Lakeport.
The gathering is open to the public.
Phillip Van Soelen will lead the discussion.
He is co-owner of California Flora Nursery in Fulton, which specializes in California native plants and habitat gardening.
Opening in 1981, California Flora is one of the San Francisco Bay Area's oldest California native nurseries.
Habitat gardening with native plants is not only good for the birds and bees, it is an increasingly popular way to reduce water use, create an increasingly popular way to reduce water use, design an interesting and attractive garden, and connect with the true essence of California's seasons.
The practice can play an important role in sustaining biodiversity and, most importantly, can connect people to the environment.
