CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif. – On Make A Difference Day, a community group will be replanting tules along parts of Clarks Island in Clearlake Oaks, under the direction of Carolyn Ruttan of Lake County’s Department of Water Resources.

The work will start at 9 a.m.

Tules provide habitat, erosion control and help filter algae and weed-producing nutrients from the Lake.

If possible, bring flat-squared spades, gloves, Styrofoam containers, shade cloth, buckets and tape measure.

For details on the process and tools needed, you can download a brochure, sign up to participate or watch tule revegetation videos at www.konoctitrails.com/clarks-island/tule-revegetation.

The island is located next to the Tower Mart on Highway 20 in Clearlake Oaks.
