LUCERNE – A benefit event last month helped raised much-needed funds for a local senior center.

On Thursday members of the Harbor Village Artists presented Lucerne Alpine Senior Center Executive Director Lee Tyree with a check for $1,700.

The funds were from the “Fashions in Bloom” fashion show, which grew from an idea by Lynn Hughes to highlight art and fashion.

Toni Stewart and Diana Liebe took the idea and produced an amazing show.

Stewart said that the success of the show was due to the efforts of all of the artists at the galleries.

The Harbor Village Artists will produce an annual Fashions in Bloom show again next year to showcase art with the latest in fashion.
