The philosophy for fitness improvement for the center is based on cardio resistance and interval training, in which you only spend a short amount of time on any one machine or exercise.
The center has more than 20 Paramount exercise machines, as well as hand weights, treadmills, elliptical machines, rowing and cycling equipment, and a movement room used for yoga, karate and boot camp classes.
The friendly and knowledgeable staff has developed routines that you can follow either loosely or closely.
Each training routine starts with a 15-minute warm up and then alternates two- to five-minute groups of different cardio and strength exercises for a total of one hour.
So whether your goal is to lose weight, tone your muscles or gain more muscle mass, it’s all right here waiting for you.
Adult memberships are $39 per month or $25 for students. Get 10 percent off when two or three immediate family members join, and 20 percent off when four or more family members join.
The center is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon.

The email then directs the taxpayer to another Web site for additional information.
The email is not from a tax agency, neither the federal IRS nor the State BOE. Several BOE taxpayers have notified BOE that they are receiving these emails.
Taxpayers should not click on the link or respond to the sender as it may be a phishing scam.
If taxpayers have a question about a BOE EFT payment they may call the BOE Taxpayer Information Section at 800-400-7115 or the BOE’s EFT Helpline at 916-327-4229 to inquire if their payment has been made.
The IRS is aware of this scam and has information available at www.irs.gov/privacy/article/0,,id=226755,00.html.
The BOE is working with the IRS to investigate this situation.
BOE suggests that taxpayers check their bank accounts to verify account status and whether EFT payments have transmitted.
Current normal protocol when EFT payments are returned unpaid is that BOE either makes a phone call to the taxpayer or sends a bill through the mail.
The BOE does not regularly send email notices regarding EFT payment rejections.
The five-member California State Board of Equalization is a publicly elected tax board. The BOE collects more than $48 billion annually in taxes and fees supporting state and local government services. It hears business tax appeals, acts as the appellate body for franchise and personal income tax appeals, and serves a significant role in the assessment and administration of property taxes.

LOWER LAKE, Calif. – Six Sigma Ranch is celebrating a double win from the second annual People’s Choice Wine Awards of Lake County.
On Sept. 26, Six Sigma Ranch received the best Tempranillo award for its 2005 Tempranillo at the People’s Choice consumer blind tasting event held at Six Sigma Ranch.
In August, a panel of 10 professional wine judges declared Six Sigma Ranch’s 2005 Tempranillo the overall Best Red Wine of Lake County.
“The timing of these awards makes the recognition even more special,” said Six Sigma owner Kaj Ahlmann. “These awards were announced exactly five years after our 2005 Tempranillo was picked and crushed. A signature varietal of Six Sigma Ranch, it has aged beautifully. We couldn’t be more proud.”
The wine has many admirers. In February 2008, Wine Enthusiast’s Steve Heimoff wrote, “This is the best California Tempranillo in this critic’s experience.” Heimoff gave the wine 91 points.
Ahlmann said guests often come to his ranch specifically to taste the Tempranillo.
Only 296 cases of the 2005 vintage were produced. In celebration of the awards, winemaker Matt Hughes said Six Sigma Ranch will release 25 cases from its library reserves.
“Drinking this wine is like going to Spain for under $50,” added Hughes.
Ahlmann has received more good news about his beloved Tempranillo.
Wine Enthusiast magazine announced that the 2006 Six Sigma Tempranillo had been awarded 90 points, on a 100-point scale.
“That’s a pretty good start for our first two vintages of Tempranillo,” said Ahlmann.
The wines can be purchased online at www.sixsigmaranch.com or at the Six Sigma tasting room.
The tasting room is open daily from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information call 707-994-4068.
Six Sigma Ranch is a 4,300-acre estate located at 13372 Spruce Grove Road in Lower Lake. About 50 acres of the land is planted to vineyards; the remaining acreage is dedicated as a nature preserve through a conservation easement donated to the Golden State Land Conservancy.
The Ahlmanns chose the Six Sigma name to show their commitment to quality and consistency. A statistical tool and management process, the six sigma methodology was developed by engineers.
