The Lakeport One-Stop includes the Employment Development Department, California Human Development, Goodwill Industries, Experience Works, Department of Rehabilitation as well as the Lake One-Stop Inc. It is a Workforce Investment Act program funded by the Napa/Lake Workforce Investment Board.

The public is invited to stop in from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, and shop the newest addition to Hospice Services of Lake County thrift stores.
The ribbon cutting will be held by Lake County Chamber of Commerce at 6 p.m. with a group photo taken in front of the thrift store.
Bring your business cards; take this opportunity to network and share your business.
Located at 21257 Calistoga Road in Middletown, there is more parking available on Stewart behind the store. Visit the staff and many volunteers who work at the thrift store.
The thrift stores contribute funding towards the much needed hospice and bereavement programs serving Lake County.
Hospice currently is looking for volunteers and donations for all locations in Clearlake, Lakeport and Middletown, with a store planned to open soon in Lucerne.

The meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the California Department of Food and Agriculture, 1220 N St. – Main Auditorium, Sacramento.
“As policy discussions continue about California’s water future we cannot forget about the need to facilitate water transfers for agricultural purposes,” said CDFA Secretary Karen Ross. “An adequate supply of affordable water for agriculture that accommodates reasonable urban needs and improves environmental quality is a goal we all strive for.”
Scheduled speakers include: Deputy Regional Director Pablo Arroyave, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Mid-Pacific Region; Director Mark Cowin, California Department of Water Resources; Dante John Nomellino, Sr., Central Delta Water Agency; Ed Smith, Palo Verde Irrigation District; Roger Patterson, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California; Lewis Bair, Reclamation District 108; Spreck Rosekrans, Environmental Defense Fund; and Carol Perkins, Butte Environmental Council. Additional invited speakers include representatives from water districts and environmental organizations.
“Every year California’s farmers and ranchers struggle with a process to transfer water within this state,” said Craig McNamara, president of the California State Board of Food and Agriculture. “By bringing these various stakeholders together, we are highlighting this important topic as well as furthering public discussion on the issue.”
The California State Board of Food and Agriculture advises the governor and the CDFA secretary on agricultural issues and consumer needs.
The state board conducts forums that bring together local, state and federal government officials, agricultural representative and citizens to discuss current issues of concern to California agriculture.

The board makes regulatory and enforcement recommendations to the department to help ensure that commercial feed inspections contribute to a clean and wholesome supply of milk, meat and eggs.
Vacancies are for commercial feed industry representatives. Applicants should hold a current California Commercial Feed License.
The term of office for board members is three years.
Members receive no compensation, but are entitled to payment of necessary traveling expenses in accordance with the rules of the Department of Personnel Administration.
