Master seamstress and costume maker Margaret Retherford – who has provided garments for Dickens Fairs, Wild West Days, theme weddings and several other events in Lake County – recently opened her own women’s clothing boutique.

The Virtuous Woman, inspired from the bible where a virtuous woman is described as a woman of success. So of course a successful woman would want to buy clothing that will show her success.

With Retherford’s many years of experience in the clothing industry she handpicks every item for the shop and most of her customers rave on her garment choices.

Among the items for sale are some of Retherford’s own creations along with a wide variety of fashion clothing from small to 3-extra larger. Much of the inventory is USA-made with some well known brand names. Also for sale is a very exquisite line of American Indian jewelry
