CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif. – Cache Creek Vineyards & Winery has been recognized with three medals by the 2013 Sunset International Wine Competition.
The judging, held at Sunset’s campus in Menlo Park on April 8 and 9, was conducted by 49 of the most respected wine experts in the West, led by honorary chairs Joel Peterson, founder and winemaker, Ravenswood; Tim Gaiser, MS, former education director, Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas; and Sara Schneider, Sunset’s wine editor.
There was an impressive 2,977 entries from the United States and around the world.
The results of the competition will be included in the October 2013 issue of Sunset Magazine with a feature about the competition.
“We are very proud to place in Sunset’s prestigious competition,” said Linda Glover of Cache Creek Vineyards. “We entered only three varietals and each one won a medal. The Sunset medals will look great alongside all our other medals when we display them in our future tasting room. We won a Silver for our 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon and our 2011 Reserve Chardonnay. A Bronze was awarded to our 2009 Petite Sirah.”
Cache Creek Vineyards & Winery is a small, family-owned, sustainably farmed vineyard. Construction on their tasting room is scheduled to commence very soon.
