CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif. – Cache Creek Vineyards & Winery has won gold at the Orange County Fair Wine Competition.
The winery’s 2007 Petite Syrah was honored with a gold medal.
With the winery, the Van Pelt family is turning the dream and vision of their late Father “Poppo” into a reality.
“Our focus now is to not only keep providing grapes to other well known brands in Napa, but to get the Cache Creek Vineyard brand on the map and into the glasses of wine consumers,” said Tess James, marketing and sales director.
The brand is off to a good start, with winemaker Derek Holstein bringing 40 years of experience, paired with James’ enthusiasm.
