Merchants association works on holiday efforts

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – On Thursday, Nov. 17, Middletown Area Merchants Association (MAMA) held our monthly meeting and mixer at the Calpine Visitors Center.

Speakers were Calpine Corp.'s Dave Jackson, Lioness, Lions, Middletown Luncheon Club, MATH, Middletown Community United Methodist Church, Central Park Association, Rotary, & MAMA.

MAMA is currently working on Christmas In Middletown to be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., in downtown.

In cooperation with generous family and community sponsors 25 Christmas trees were purchased for local families in need. These trees will be distributed to families who indicated need through Spirit of the Season.

MAMA purchased the live trees to be decorated by including preschool, elementary, middle and high school students.

The association would encourage the community to walk main street Middletown and view the the lovingly decorated Christmas trees during the Christmas in Middletown celebration and enjoy all the fun the season has to offer right here in town.

The next mixer will be held on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Calpine Visitors Center. Hosted by MAMA and will include all home-based and new businesses, with speakers from Tri Counties Bank and Mt Konocti Facilitation.
