CLEARLAKE – Wild About Books will host 18-year-old local author Brandon Rockwell at a reading and book signing on Saturday, July 18.

The reading and signing will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Rockwell has written “Ethnis: Destruction,” a science fiction book about counter-terrorist agent Nicodemus Jadey and his siblings that follow a lead from Earth to their home planet of Jhoutai. Of course, that is where the story gets good …

Wild About Books is starting a Summer Reading Club for grade school and middle school readers.

Come to the bookshop on Saturday mornings between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to receive an advanced reader's copy of a new book that will be coming out in the near future.

Read it, write a short review, bring the book back the following Saturday and get another one.

Your reviews will be posted on Wild About Books' Web site, www.wildaboutbooks.net , and in the store.

The club will be active through Aug. 29.

The festival will be held at the Soper-Reese Community Theatre, 275 S. Main St., Lakeport. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
