Middletown Art Center hosts Big Read event Oct. 7

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – Come explore the characters of the NEA Big Read novel, “Into the Beautiful North,” through art at the Middletown Art Center on Sunday, Oct. 7.

Make a pop up village and populate it with characters from the novel -- like pop up books only larger.

Come alone or bring a friend or family member. Adults of all ages and children age 5 and up are welcome. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Parents and children are encouraged to come together and enjoy colors and creative fun.

MAC has free copies of the NEA Big Read novel available, so pick yours up Thursday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; or at the Sunday event.

It's a fun and easy read. You do not have to read the book to attend.

This event is presented in partnership between the Lake County NEA Big Read, Lake County Library, and the Middletown Art Center.

The NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
