LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Lake County Rural Arts Initiative and Lake County Land Trust are inviting all school-aged Lake County children to get outside and photograph Lake County nature as part of a new contest.
The theme is “Explore Lake County Nature.” The deadline to submit photos is May 1.
More than $600 in cash prizes will be awarded for the top images.
Cash prizes will be awarded in three categories: K-5, 6-8, 9-12. Prizes are $100 for first place, $75 for second place and $50 for third place.
The art will be displayed at the Land Trust’s Art and Nature Day on May 5. The top photographs will be displayed throughout the year at numerous locations in Lake County.
Submit photograph at www.LCRAI.org/contests. Winners will be notified prior to the event and invited to an award ceremony.
The Rural Arts Initiative is working with Lake County Schools and Community Partners to bring arts to all local children and help fund the expanded arts program the schools want and need, utilizing art teachers, local artists and combining the arts with more traditional subjects.
