MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – The Middletown Art Center invites the public to join in a celebration of three years of local art, artists and art making this Saturday, March 24, from 7 to 10:30 p.m. at the Let Loose Dance Party.

Mind bending, body shaking music will be performed by The Echo Conspiracy and DJ Nic who will keep the dance floor moving with a live mix of deep and dynamic grooves.

The cost is $5 with a no host wine and beer bar on site.

Over the past three years MAC has emerged as home to a burgeoning local art scene from visual arts, to live music, to spoken word.

MAC is committed to providing affordable access to the arts, including free exhibits, low cost art classes such as those featured in the Resilience Project, and a broad variety of cultural happenings.

On view now is “Obsession,” a vibrant exhibit that highlights the quirky and curious obsessions that motivate our Lake County artists’ work. Manifesting as series, stylized or formal approaches, materials used, or concepts, the collection of work is stunning.

Obsession closes this Saturday at 4:30 p.m., right before the Let Loose celebration. Be sure to catch the show on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

From March 29 to April 2, MAC will host a mini exhibit, “Breaking Silence,” the healing process of sexual assault survivors, in recognition of April being sexual assault awareness month.

On April 7, MAC will open its 28th exhibit in three years, “Holding Opposites.”

MAC is located at 21456 State Highway 175 at the junction of Highway 29 in Middletown.
