MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – The public is invited to the opening reception for “Obsession” at the Middletown Art Center this Saturday, Feb. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.
This intriguing exhibit will be on view through the end of March and includes diverse and sometimes intense or quirky approaches to art making.
The show highlights artists’ “obsessions” as explored through their work; what makes them tick, what they are preoccupied with, or interested in.
The “obsession” may manifest as a series, a stylized or formal approach, or the choice of materials used. Or, the pieces may reveal a unifying concept, event, theme, story or inquiry that motivates the work.
MAC is excited to offer subsidized field trips for school children thanks to support from the Lake County Wine Alliance. Field trips include a guided tour in the gallery and hands on art making in the studio.
The Obsession exhibit provides a fun and enriching arts exposure opportunity for our kids. To learn more, to reserve a trip, or donate so that more children can experience inspiring contemporary artwork right here in Lake County, visit http://www.middletownartcenter.org/field-trips.html .
