Soper Reese screens ‘The King and I’ Jan. 23

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The 1956 musical, “The King and I,” starring Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr, screens at the Soper Reese Theatre on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 1 and 6 p.m.
Entry to the film is by donation.
Adapted from the Broadway stage, this sumptuous Rodgers and Hammerstein confection about the stubborn and proud King of Siam, and a proper and equally stubborn English schoolteacher, stars Yul Brynner in his most iconic role.
The spectacular score includes many nostalgic favorites such as “Getting to Know You,” and “Shall We Dance.”
The movie is sponsored by the Lakeport Women's Civic Club and by John H. Tomkins Tax Consultants. Rated G with run time of two hours and 13 minutes.
