LAKEPORT, Calif. – The 1972 epic drama, “The Godfather,” starring Marlon Brando, Al Pacino and James Caan screens at the Soper Reese Theatre on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 1 and 6 p.m.

Entry to the film is by donation.

Based on the best-selling novel by Mario Puzo and directed by the now famous, but then young and struggling, director Francis Ford Coppola, this film is widely recognized as a Hollywood masterpiece.

Rich with subtle acting and stunning cinematography, “The Godfather” is about the bloody and vicious struggle for survival of one of the five Mafia families in late 1940s New York.

The film received 11 Oscar nominations and won a Best Actor award for Marlon Brando.
