Soper Reese Theatre shows ‘Seven Brides for Seven Brothers’ Dec. 12

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The 1954 musical, “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers,” starring Howard Keel, Jane Powell, Russ Tamblyn and Julie Newman, screens at the Soper Reese Theatre on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 1 and 6 p.m.
Entry to the film is by donation. Assistive listening devices are now available.
This happy, hand-clapping, foot-stomping country type of musical has all the slickness of its Broadway show counterpart and benefits immensely from Stanley Donen’s deft direction,
Michael Kidd’s dynamic choreography, and Adolph Deutsch’s and Saul Chaplin’s Oscar-winning score. Among the best musicals of all time and nominated for five Academy Awards.
