The Resilience Project hosts class on alternative photographic processes Dec. 2

Alternative photographic processes will be the focus of the Middletown Art Center’s Resilience Project on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017.

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – The Middletown Art Center invites the public to participate in an alternative photographic processes workshop from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2.

This week participants will print images using cyanotype and Van Dyke brown. Both are contact printing processes that need ultraviolet light to make an exposure onto coated paper, fabric and or other surfaces.

Explore these intriguing alternative techniques as part of Photographing Resilience at Middletown Art Center.

The cost is just $5 and class is open to adults and teens 12 and up, whether new to art making or professionals.

“Participants can make ‘digital negatives’ using transparencies from photographic images or drawings, or they can use mementos and natural objects to create compositions,” explained Instructor Shane Powers. “This is a very versatile process with endless creative possibilities not only for photographers, but for artists and makers of all kinds! So come to class and bring a friend!”
