MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – The Middletown Art Center and Boatique Winery join forces for the final 2017 Palette to Palate series on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

This intimate pairing of art and wine will introduce Madi and Robert Mount, founders of Boatique Winery.

The Mounts will provide tastings of Boatique's complex, award-winning wines alongside Lake County artists presenting their work in the current exhibit, “WATER!”

“Boatique Winery is a perfect fit for the WATER! exhibit” said Kaplan, executive director of MAC. “The display is quite exhilarating! The gallery space is filled with a multitude of liquid blues and greens; a welcome wet and cooling contrast to the dry faded yellows and oranges that surrounded us when the show opened on Oct. 28. The element water is vital to life. It represents worlds inhabited and uninhabited; change, emotions, reflections and dreams… ”

The $10 program begins promptly at 5:30 p.m.

The evening includes conversation with Madi and Robert Mount, and tastings of Boatique’s wines. MAC artists will introduce us to and provide us with insights into their work in the exhibit.

Additional $5 glasses of Boutique wine will be available for sale. Light refreshments are also provided.

During the winter, Palette to Palate will start at 5:30 and end at 7 p.m. to take advantage of daylight and leave time for folks to enjoy dinner at any of several restaurants in Middletown.

“Palette to Palate is always an inspiring and fun event,” said Kaplan. “This will be the last weekend to see ‘WATER!’, so we really encourage everyone to come and enjoy the exhibit, which features only Lake County artists. We will then get ready for the MAC Member’s Holiday Show Opening Reception and Art Market, which will be part of Christmas in Middletown, on Dec. 9, from 4 to 8 p.m.”

Boatique Winery is located in Lake County’s Red Hills Appellation at 2266 feet above sea level. With 47 acres of rolling vineyards scattered between alpine and oak forests.

The rare combination of rich volcanic soil, high elevation farming, and some of the cleanest air in California is what make the Red Hills Appellation famous for yielding grapes with thick skins and greater tannins, which in turn produce intense wines.

Boatique’s Sauvignon Blanc vines also thrive in the Big Valley Appellation’s alluvial soils on the valley floor. The Big Valley Appellation is known for its superb grapes.

Palette to Palate is an informative and enjoyable fundraising event which helps support Middletown Art Center’s many arts and cultural programs.

MAC is a nonprofit dedicated to creating art opportunities, art education, cultural enrichment and ecological awareness while contributing to the social and economic well-being of Lake County. Donations to MAC are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.

Come to MAC for Palette to Palate and other enriching arts-centered activities at 21456 State Highway 175 at the junction of Highway 29 in the heart of Middletown.
