MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – Middletown Art Center presents the Blues Farm in Concert at the Greenview Restaurant on Saturday, July 1, from 7 to 10 p.m.
The event, called “Back on Our Feet Again,” is an acknowledgment of continued fire recovery in our community.
About half of MAC’s 60 artist members lost their homes and studios in the Valley fire. Many have found new digs or are in the process of rebuilding. Many are back at work in their studios.
David Sharon, a MAC and Cobb Mountain Artist Board Member says, “This is a great pairing with the Fourth of July, as our recovery is like a renewed sense of independence!”
Sharon and his wife, Joanne, lost their home and Joanne’s ceramic art studio in the Valley fire but have recently completed renovations on a new home and studio in Clearlake.
The Back on Our Feet Again event will include a silent auction of fine art from local artists, the Greenview’s menu of food and drink available for purchase and a 50/50 Raffle where winner takes half of the pot.
The Blues Farm is a Lake County blues band that plays its unique brand of Funkity Hip Shakin Lake County Blues with a healthy dose of Chicago, Memphis and Mississippi mixed in.
Driven by Mojo Larry on Guitar and Dave Broida on Harmonica /Vocals, Cory Hyatt on keyboards and backed by the rock solid rhythm section of Sue Hill on Bass, Steve Dubois on Drums to get the good times rolling!
“One of the reasons we decided to host a concert at the Greenview was to expose more South Lake County and Hidden Valley Lake residents to the MAC and our local artists,” said David Sharon.
So come on down to the Greenview and support the arts in South County. Tickets are available online at http://www.middletownartcenter.com/ and at the door.
