LOWER LAKE – You don’t have to be Italian to try out for Commedia Dell Arte, performances of which are coming soon to Lower Lake.
Auditions will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 – which is International Commedia Dell Arte Day – and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at the AnnDrewArt in the Tuscan Village, 16175 Main St. in Lower Lake.
The performances require improvisation skills and are very movement oriented. Training will be provided. Inexperienced performers of all ages are welcome.
You will be trying out to portray one of several stock characters. There are no scripts to follow, but rather each show is based on scenarios.
They will debut at the Tuscan Village during the Lake Renaissance Festival held on Memorial Day Weekend.
