LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – For those looking to add some love to their lives on Valentine’s Day, Lake County Animal Care and Control has some options.

On Saturday, Feb. 14, Animal Care and Control will hold a free adoption event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the shelter, 4949 Helbush Drive, Lakeport.

Available pets include dozens of dogs, along with cats, chickens and even a pig named Pickles.

Among the adoptable dogs are four that Animal Care and Control took from the Clearlake animal shelter.

Those dogs are Auto, Lady, Love Bug and Tanner.

“These sweet pups have been kenneled for most of their lives and are still learning what it means to simply be a dog. They will need patience, understanding, and lots of love as they adjust to home life,” Animal Care and Control said in its social media announcement about the event. “They’re looking for someone willing to show them that the world can be kind – and that forever really does exist. This Valentine’s Day, you could be the reason one of these dogs finally knows what love feels like.”
